In the run-up to the World Environment Day celebration on June 5, 2025, it gives us pride at Nikhar Hygiene Industries to renew its commitment towards a healthy, greener, and sustainable world. Being envisioned by the United Nations way back in 1972, World Environment Day is a global forum to sensitize and stir action for better life for everybody. The theme colours for the year, to be determined, shall undoubtedly be such that support the immediate causes of global warming, pollution, and loss of bio-diversity.
We at Nikhar Hygiene realize we must fall in line with the world’s efforts, but we know our non-biodegradable, non-reusable product line creates unprecedented issues. With green efforts sprinkled with a dash of innovation, strategic alliances, and a think-outside-the-box approach, we’re pulling out all stops in minimizing our carbon footprint and actualizing the ethos of World Environment Day 2025.
Understanding the Significance of World Environment Day
World Environment Day is not a date; it’s a call to people, organizations, and governments to adopt environmental challenges. The day every year is focused on a particular theme, e.g., green energy, plastics pollution, or reviving the ecosystem, to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to monitor sustainable activity.
Though our products like hygiene disposables are disposable convenience and protection, we are greatly sensitive to the environmental issue inherent in non-returnable and non-degradable objects. One of our biggest concerns is reduction of the environmental impact which is being generated by our manufacturing process. We have replaced our old machinery and equipment with energy-efficient machinery and equipment in a bid to restrict the use of energy in our factories. Following the replacement of our old equipment with new equipment, we have managed to significantly reduce our carbon dioxide emissions over the past few years.
2. Waste Reduction and Recycling Measures
Although our goods are not biodegradable and do not require recycling, we attempt each measure possible to limit wastage in every stage of our supply chain. We also have rigorous waste management protocols within our factories, where surplus material during manufacturing and remaining raw material are eliminated environmentally.
3. Sustainable Packaging Solutions
Packaging is one of the most important areas where we are working towards sustainability. Even though our product itself is non-recyclable, we are shifting towards pack material that is recyclable or recycled content. Plastic pack and light-weight material reduction, light-weight sustainable alternative, we will minimize the life cycle footprint of our products. We would want to make sure that each pack that we deliver from our factories becomes part of a circular economy, although the product itself is one time use.
4. Joint Work with Industry Partners
Sustainability is not personal and we at Nikhar Hygiene are blessed to have industry partners with whom we share a common vision. We work directly with suppliers who share a vision of sustainable production and ethical sourcing, therefore the raw material is produced without harming nature too much. We also engage in industry forums and sustainability conferences to keep ourselves abreast of today’s trends towards environmentally sustainable production and waste reduction.
Overcoming Non-Biodegradable Products Challenges
Non-biodegradability and non-reusability of our products are challenges to the environment. But take our word for it or not, we also trust in honesty and being cautious.
